Airpot Corp’s displacement products include Self-Aligning Pneumatic Actuators and basic Piston / Cylinder Sets that are constructed using a graphite piston / borosilicate glass cylinder combination in which each piston is selectively matched to fit the cylinder with extremely close clearances. They have unparalleled low friction, responding to forces as low as only a few grams and pressures less than 0.2 psi. Starting and running friction are almost identical, preventing jerky, uncontrolled starts and providing uniform smoothness throughout the full stroke of the device.
Airpot Actuators operate as low friction air cylinders, but also have uses as pumps and pressure sensors. The most compact of the Airpot actuator line, they have self-aligning capability and offer very low mass for super responsive motion. They make possible accurate force sensitivity and actuation with uniform motion, allowing amazingly smooth movement and pressure sensing operation even over distances less than 0.1 inch and cycle rates ranging from very slow to very high speeds- up to 10cps or more. They can be used to dispense small volumes of air, sense a flow, generate airflow or air pressure, or accurately provide a visible volume indication with ease. Airpot self-aligning pneumatic actuators are ideal for pumping small volumes of air or generating low pressures with minimal energy use.
